Speakers announced for FIFA Equality and Inclusion conference

World governing body FIFA have announced the speakers that will participate on their forth Conference for Equality and Inclusion, which will take place on 2 March, in Zurich, Switzerland.

The conference will be held under the heading of ‘Pass it on – Hope through football’ and will touch on how equal opportunities in sport can impact on real societal changes and how football can be used to help facilitate integration into society and its ability to empower individuals.

It will convene international personalities and role models, international experts from football, the world of sports and the humanitarian community to tell their stories, share their experiences, and exchange their insights an expertise.

These include: Chan Yuen Ting, the first female coach to win a top league title in men's football, the Ugandan international Jean Sseninde and former Mali international and African footballer of the year in 2007, Frederic Kanouté. They will be joined by former Russia international Alexey Smertin, who serves as Anti-Discrimination Officer for the Football Union of Russia and keynote speaker UNHCR Director of International Relations Rossella Pagliuchi-Lor, among others.

Debates will be moderated by English journalist and television broadcaster Kate Abdo.

The conference is free to attend and open to the public but registration is required.
