Over 100 Punjabi and non-Punjabi supporters of the English second division clubs Derby County and Wolverhampton Wanderers will come together next Sunday to celebrate multiculturalism amongst clubs' fan bases.[/intro_paragraph]

After the clash between the two Football League Championship sides, in Derby, the two ethnic fan groups Punjabi Rams and Punjabi Wolves will join forces to encourage the Punjabi community and supporters from other minority backgrounds to attend matches.

The event will be hosted by Derby Country newly created fan group Punjabi Rams, whose work seeks to encourage more Punjabis to support their local team and experience the atmosphere a football match.

Backed by the Kick It Out and Football Supporters’ Federation (FSF) initiative ‘Fans For Diversity’, launched in March to promote diversity and inclusion among fans of the professional and non-league game, the event will count with representatives of both organisations and former Derby and Wolves players.

Anwar Uddin, FSF diversity and campaigns manager, said: “The gathering of the two Punjabi fans groups will be a fantastic occasion for both sets of supporters to show their pride for their clubs and their own communities.

“It is important that supporters get together to spread awareness of diversity within the game and the Punjabi Rams and Punjabi Wolves getting together can only help make the game more inclusive for all fans.”

The gathering will take place on Sunday 8 November at the SportsMan bar in Derby, at 2.30pm.
