The following incidents of racism, xenophobia, extreme nationalism or homophobia have been reported to Fare during October 2014. This list is only likely to reflect a proportion of the incidents that occurred.

All reports have been brought to Fare’s attention through eye-witness or media accounts. A Fare observer scheme is also currently at place at UEFA club competitions to monitor discriminatory behaviour.

Fare has third party reporting status with UEFA, and FIFA on international matches, and at a national level we can support incident reports made by our members.

02 October 2014 – UEFA Europa League: FC Dinamo Moskva v PSV Eindhoven

A group of FC Dinamo Moskva fans performed Nazi gestures.

Details of the incident were passed to UEFA for action.

03 October 2014 – Romania Liga I: Rapid Bucharest v Concordia Chiajna

A group of Rapid Bucharest fans racially abused Concordia Chiajna Brazilian striker Wellington Carlos.

05 October 2014 – English Tameside League under-16: Maccabi Manchester Under-16 v Curzon Ashton

A group of Curzon Ashton fans and players directed Anti-Semitic abuse at Manchester Maccabi players.

07 October 2014 – English Conference Premier: Bristol Rovers v Dartford

Dartford goalkeeper Jason Bown was racially abused by a group of Bristol Rovers fans.

07 October 2014 – UEFA sanction: FIGC President

UEFA have banned FIGC President Carlo Tavecchio for racism.

For a period of six months, Tavecchio will be ineligible for any position as a UEFA Official; will not participate in the next UEFA Congress scheduled for 24 March 2015; and will have to organise a special event in Italy aimed at increasing awareness and compliance with the principles of the UEFA Resolution entitled European Football United Against Racism.

10 October 2014 – UEFA EURO 2016 Qualifier: Bulgaria v Croatia

A group of Bulgaria supporters displayed banners featuring far-right symbols and slogans and sang discriminatory chants.

Details of the incident were passed to UEFA for action.

11 October 2014 – Peru: Harold Forsyth

Peru's ambassador to the United States Harold Forsyth racially abused César Vallejo Panama striker Luis Tejada on Twitter.

11 October 2014 – UEFA EURO 2016 Qualifier: Romania v Hungary

Groups of Romania and Hungary fans chanted discriminatory songs.

UEFA have ordered a one match partial stadium closure to both Romanian (FRF) and Hungarian (MLSZ) FAs.

The FRF have also been fined €32,000 and the MLSZ €30,000.

12 October 2014 – UEFA EURO 2016 Qualifier: Ukraine v Macedonia

A group of Ukraine supporters displayed far-right symbols.

Details of the incident were passed to UEFA for action.

UEFA have ordered the partial closure of the stadium during Ukraine’s next match as a host association and fined the Football Federation of Ukraine €58,000.

13 October 2014 – UEFA EURO 2016 Qualifier: Croatia v Azerbaijan

A group of Croatia fans sang far-right and homophobic chants.

Details of the incident were passed to UEFA for action.

14 October 2014 – UEFA EURO 2016 Qualifier: Finland v Romania

A group of Romania fans displayed a banner featuring far-right symbols.

Details of the incident were passed to UEFA for action.

14 October 2014 – UEFA EURO 2016 Qualifier: Serbia v Albania

A group of Serbia supporters chanted discriminatory and xenophobic songs.

An Albanian nationalist banner was displayed.

19 October 2014 – German Regionalliga Südwest (IV): Kickers Offenbach v Waldhof Mannheim

A number of Waldhof fans sang anti-Semitic and anti-Roma chants.

19 October 2014 – Italian Serie A: Hellas Verona v AC Milan

AC Milan Ghanaian midfielder Sulley Muntari was subjected to racist abuse by a group of Verona fans.

The Italian FA (FIGC) have ordered Verona a partial stadium closure and a €50,000 fine.

19 October 2014 – Italian Serie A: Inter Milan v Napoli

A group of Inter Milan fans directed territorial discriminatory chants to the referee and Napoli supporters.

The Italian FA (FIGC) have imposed a €30,000 fine to Inter Milan.

22 October 2014 – UEFA Europa League: Metalist Kharkiv v Legia Warszawa

A group of Metalist Kharkiv displayed a far-right banner and a number of Legia Warszawa supporters unfolded a nationalist banner, displayed far-right symbols and chanted xenophobic songs.

22 October 2014 – UEFA Champions League: BATE Borisov v FC Shakhtar Donetsk

FC Shakhtar Donetsk striker Luiz Adriano was racially abused by a group of BATE Borisov fans.

Details of the incident were passed to UEFA for action.

UEFA have ordered a partial stadium closure of BATE Borisov stadium for the next home game played in UEFA competitions.

23 October 2014 – UEFA Europa League: ŠK Slovan Bratislava v AC Sparta Praha

A group of ŠK Slovan Bratislava supporters chanted homophobic slogans while performing a choreography with pink balloons.

A number of AC Sparta Praha fans chanted a xenophobic songs.

23 October 2014 – UEFA Europa League: Lille OSC v Everton

Lack of required stadium facilities for disabled people.

25 October 2014 – Peruvian Torneo Clausura: Sporting Cristal v César Vallejo

César Vallejo striker Luis Tejada was racially abused by a number of the fans in the Eastern tribune of Alberto Gallardo stadium.

The Peruvian FA (FPF) have ordered Sporting Cristal a one match partial closure and imposed a €2,077 fine.

25 October 2014 – Spanish La Liga BBVA: Real Madrid v FC Barcelona

A group of Real Madrid supporters chanted discriminatory words, abusive to disabled people, to FC Barcelona Lionel Messi and his teammates.

26 October 2014 – FIGC: Sampdoria President Massimo Ferrero

The Italian FA (FIGC) opened disciplinary proceedings against Sampdoria President Massimo Ferrero over racist remark.

26 October 2014 – Malawian TNM Super League: Kamuzu Barracks v Big Bullets

Big Bullets coach Nsanzurwimo Ramadhan was subjected to xenophobic abused by a group of Kamuzu fans.

27 October 2014 – Russian Premier League: Kuban v Torpedo

Kuban Liberian half-back Sekou Oliseh and fellow black teammates were reportedly subjected to racial abuse by a group of Torpedo fans.

27 October 2014 – Ukrainian Cup: FC Shakhtar Donetsk v Poltava

FC Shakhtar Donetsk Brazilian player Alex Teixeira was racially abused by a spectator.

29 October 2014 – The FA sanction: Northumberland County FA vice president John Cummings

The FA have banned Northumberland County FA vice president John Cummings for four months over sexist comments.

29 October 2014 – The FA sanction: Rio Ferdinand

The FA have banned Queen Park Rangers FC centre-back Rio Ferdinand for three matches over a sexist tweet.

The player was also fined €31,267 and ordered to attend a special education programme.

29 October 2014 – SFA sanction: Aleksandar Tonev

Scottish FA have banned Celtic winger Aleksandar Tonev for seven matches over a racist incident in September.

The player has been found guilty of racially abusing Aberdeen defender Shay Logan.

31 October 2014 – Russian Premier League: FC Rostov

FC Rostov Igor Gamula made racist comments regarding the team’s black players.
