The following incidents of racism, xenophobia, extreme nationalism or homophobia have been reported to Fare during November 2015. This list is only likely to reflect a proportion of the incidents that occurred.

All reports have been brought to Fare’s attention through eye-witness or media accounts. A Fare observer scheme is also currently at place at UEFA club competitions to monitor discriminatory behaviour.

Fare has third party reporting status with UEFA, and FIFA on international matches, and at a national level we can support incident reports made by our members.

01 November 2015 – Mexican Liga MX: Toluca v Club América

A Toluca fan racially abused Club América Colombian forward Darwin Quintero.

The Mexican FA Disciplinary Committee opened an investigation into the incident.

01 November 2015 – Croatian First League: HNK Hadjuk v HNK Rijeka

Fans of both teams shouted homophobic slurs against each other.

HNK Hadjuk ultra group Torcida chanted anti-Serb and anti-Roma remarks against the visiting supporters and the people of Rijeka.

12 November 2015 – FIFA 2018 World Cup Qualifier: Bolivia v Venezuela

An individual Bolivia fan chanted xenophobic chants.

A report was sent to FIFA for action.

12 November 2015 – FIFA 2018 World Cup Qualifier: Chile v Colombia

Fans of Chile sang homophobic songs targeting Chilean fans.

A report was sent to FIFA for action.

15 November 2015 – FIFA 2018 World Cup Qualifier: Argentina v Brazil

A small group of Argentinean fans racially abused Brazil player Willian Borges da Silva.

Home fans also sang homophobic slur targeting the Brazilian supporters.

Brazil fans chanted homophobic remarks.

A report was sent to FIFA for action.

13 November 2015 – FIFA 2018 World Cup Qualifier: Mexico v El Salvador

A group of Mexico fans chanted sexist remarks.

Large sections of home fans also chanted homophobic slurs at several moments of the match.

A report was sent to FIFA for action.

13 November 2015 – FIFA Friendly: Czech Republic v Serbia

Czech Republic fans displayed a small Islamophobic banner.

A report was sent to FIFA for action.

14 November 2015 – Portuguese II Liga: Leixões v Farense

A group of Leixões fans allegedly chanted racist slurs.

15 November 2015 - EURO 2016 Qualification: Hungary v Norway

Hungary fans chanted anti-Roma chants

A report was sent to UEFA for action.

15 November 2015 – Slovakian Doxxbet Liga: ŠK Slovan Bratislava juniori v FC Nitra

Slovan fans displayed a far-right and anti-refugee banner.

15 November 2015 - EURO 2016 Qualification: Slovenia v Ukraine

Slovenia fans chanted anti-Roma chants.

A report was sent to UEFA for action.

17 November 2015 - FIFA 2018 World Cup Qualifier: Honduras v Mexico

Honduras fans chanted homophobic and sexist chants

A report was sent to FIFA for action.

The FIFA Disciplinary opened proceedings against Honduras FA.

17 November 2015 - FIFA 2018 World Cup Qualifier: Uruguay v Chile

A group of Chilean fans sang homophobic songs targeting Uruguayan fans, who responded with further homophobic chants.

A report was sent to FIFA for action.

21 November 2015 – Czech Synot Liga: Bohemians v Ostrava

Ostrava fans displayed a large Islamophobic banner.

21 November 2015 – Solvak Fortuna Liga: Senica v Zilina

Zilina fans chanted Islamophobic chants.

21 November 2015 – Andalusia grassroots league: Club Deportivo La Salle de Puerto Real v San Fernando Club Deportivo

A fan at the match made xenophobic comments targeting San Fernando player Mario Ugochukwu.

The referee stopped the match to halt the abuse.

29 November 2015 – German 2 Bundesliga: Fortuna Dusseldorf v FSV Frankfurt

Fortuna Dusseldorf midfielder Kerem Demirbay made sexist remarks towards female referee Bibi Steinhaus after being given a second yellow card.

01 November 2015 – São Paulo FC Michel Bastos

São Paulo FC Michel Bastos was racially abused on Instagram following his goal celebration on the Brazilian Série A match against Sport Recife.

01 November 2015 – Manchester City Raheem Sterling

Manchester City Raheem Sterling was subjected to racist abuse on social media after posting a family picture of himself with his daughter and niece on Instagram.

03 November 2015 – Italian Football Association President Carlo Tavecchio

Audio recordings emerged of a conversation of the Italian FA President Carlo Tavecchio in June, where disparaging comments about Jews and gays were made.

09 November 2015 – Puebla Vice President Álvaro Flores Cid de León

Puebla Colombian player Efraín Cortés was subjected to racist remarks made by the club Vice President Álvaro Flores Cid de León.

The Mexican FA Disciplinary Committee opened an investigation into the incident.

13 November 2015 – Aston Villa Jores Okore

Aston Villa Danish defender Jores Okore was subjected to racial discrimination on social media by Daniel Carlsen, leader of far-right The Danish Party.

28 November 2015 – Gamba Osaka Patric

Gamba Osaka Brazilian striker Patric was victim of racist abuse on Twitter after scoring the third goal in Gamba 3-1 victory.

Japanese football authorities launched an investigation into the incident.

Mexican Liga MX: Toluca v Club América

Toluca have announced the fan identified for racially abusing Club América Colombian forward Darwin Quintero on a match on 1 November 2015 will be forbidden from entering the club’s stadium.

Mexican Liga MX: Puebla Vice President Álvaro Flores Cid de León

The Mexican FA have imposed a one year ban to Puebla Vice President Álvaro Flores Cid de León and €22,000 fine over racist remarks targeting the club’s Colombia player Efraín Cortés.

Japanese football authorities: teenage fan

Japanese decided not to punish the teenage student responsible for the racist tweet aimed at the Brazilian striker Patric after he apologised for sending it.
