Incidents list reported to Fare during June 2015
The following incidents of racism, xenophobia, extreme nationalism or homophobia have been reported to Fare during June 2015. This list is only likely to reflect a proportion of the incidents that occurred.
All reports have been brought to Fare’s attention through eye-witness or media accounts. A Fare observer scheme is also currently at place at UEFA club competitions to monitor discriminatory behaviour.
Fare has third party reporting status with UEFA, and FIFA on international matches, and at a national level we can support incident reports made by our members.
The general public can keep us informed of national and international level incidents through the reporting form here.
07 June 2015 – Norwegian 1 Division: Baerum SK v Sandnes Ulf
Baerum SK player Simen Juklerod made a homophobic comment directed at a Sandnes Ulf player.
The player was given a straight red card for the abuse.
12 June 2015 – UEFA Euro 2016 Qualifier: Bosnia and Herzegovina v Israel
A group of Bosnia and Herzegovina supporters chanted anti-Semitic slogans.
A report was sent to UEFA for action.
12 June 2015 – UEFA Euro 2016 Qualifier: Croatia v Italy
A large Swastika was marked out on the pitch of the Poljud Stadium.
A report was sent to UEFA for action.
13 June 2015 – UEFA Euro 2016 Qualifier: Finland v Hungary
A group of Hungary fans displayed a homophobic banner.
A report was sent to UEFA for action.
14 June 2015 – UEFA Euro 2016 Qualifier: Ukraine v Luxembourg
A number of Ukraine national team fans displayed far-right symbols.
A report was sent to UEFA for action.
14 June 2015 – CONMEBOL Copa América: Argentina v Paraguay
Chilean fans sang homophobic and sexist chants directed at Argentinian supporters.
26 June 2015 – German Fifth Division: Michaylo Kopolovets
FC Einheit Rudolstadt player Michaylo Kopolovets made homophobic comments in an interview to the Ukrainian website Football24.
27 June 2015 - Australian State League 5: Lara SC v Cats
A Lara SC player racially abused Cats South Sudanese-Australian player Chol Mangar.
Lara SC have launched an internal investigation into the incident.
