Mahatma Gandhi Human Rights Organisation will mark the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech, and the establishment of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU) with a series of activities this weekend (6th-8th September).
The Hungarian organisation will use cultural and sporting activities to help celebrate the diversity and legacy of the African culture.
The activities include an African exhibition, which will be composed of a collection of traditional clothes and films that played a significant role in the history of the black culture. A forum will also take place during the weekend, which will be held at the Millenium Park, Kis Rókus utca 16-20, Pavilion D, in Budapest.
On Sunday 8th September, the Mahatma Gandhi Human Rights Organisation, which is a Fare member organisation, will also hold a football match between the African Star FC and the African Star B football, both teams composed of African refugees, asylum seekers and international university students. The match will take place on 4pm, at Szors 1214 XII district.
