Representatives from disabled supporters groups in France met over the weekend to launch the first nation-wide disabled supporters group, which will work towards improving the experience of disabled fans in the country.
Representatives from Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseille, Paris and Saint-Etienne were in attendance at the launch on 2 April, where the group held its first general assembly, elected its first executive committee and also established committees and working groups.
The Fédération Française de Supporters de Football Handicapés (French Federation of Disabled Football Supporters - FFSFH) will be looking to improve the access and inclusion of disabled fans at French football stadiums.
Rene Poutet was elected as the first President of FFSFH. At the end of the event he said: "I am very happy and proud to be the first President of this federation. We are delighted to work together to ensure disabled people can take their rightful place within the game".
The initiative was held as part the CAFE Week of Action 2016 celebrations - Total Football Total Access.
