English FA issue lifetime travel bans to fans for Nazi taunts at Germany friendly

The English Football Association have for the first time handed lifetime bans from attending away games to two supporters following incidents during March’s friendly against Germany in Dortmund.

The bans come ahead of Saturday’s World Cup qualifier in Glasgow where England will travel to face old rivals Scotland amid fears of a worrying new generation of trouble-makers.

The two fans have received lifetime bans from the England Supporters Travel Club (ESTC), the official organisation for away support.

One of them was seen making a Nazi salute towards German supporters while another was viewed imitating an Adolf Hitler moustache and making cut-throat gestures.

Another 25 supporters have been given various punishments for their behaviour in Dortmund where the hosts were taunted about World War Two and their national anthem booed.

At the time FA chairman Greg Clarke condemned their “inappropriate, disrespectful and disappointing” behaviour.
