Birmingham City Ladies FC, who finished 4^th in last season’s English Women Super League (WSL), will join forces with the Fare member Just a Ball Game? (JBG?) to host an anti-homophobia event on Sunday, 29 June, before their home fixture against Manchester City Ladies.

“This is a huge step forward in helping to raise the profile of the campaign work we do, and we would like to thank BCLFC in being the first WSL team to take this forward.” said Ann Morgan, co-chairman of the English NGO.

The club will be the first elite ladies team to host one of four JBG? event days, giving the supporters attending the opportunity to learn more about the NGO’s work in promoting LGBTI rights in sport. A JBG? pop-up exhibition will also be displayed at the venue raising awareness of discrimination in the game.

Birmingham City Ladies FC have also agreed to fly a rainbow flag at their home games in support and inclusion of a local LGBT community, becoming the fourth club in England to do so, alongside Bradford City, Hyde FC and AFC Rushden & Diamonds.
