CAFE Week of Action kicks-off to further the inclusion of disabled fans
For the third consecutive year Centre for Access to Football in Europe (CAFE) partners across Europe are taking part in activities to celebrate and further inclusive match day experiences for disabled supporters.
In 2016, the CAFE Week of Action will run between 02-10 April and will see activities take place in Poland and Ukraine planned under the umbrella of Total Football Total Access.
Activities will also be hosted by the Fare member partners in Croatia, Cyprus, France, FYR Macedonia, Germany, Northern Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales.
Initiatives in England and Wales will be held as part of the Level Playing Field (LFP) campaign which coincides with CAFE's Week of Action.
Manchester United is among the Premier League clubs that will celebrate the inclusion of their disabled fans. The club will donate LPF banners to each Premier League and Championship club, which will be on display around the grounds to promote access and inclusion and to celebrate disabled fans across England and Wales.
The CAFE Week of Action has been hosted in Poland and Ukraine since 2013 as part of the UEFA Euro 2012 Respect Inclusion project legacy.
Football governing bodies, clubs and disabled supporters groups in the two countries have hosted a range of activities, with more disabled fans attending matches and raised awareness amongst the football family as a result.
