Fare is opening up participation in a round table that will look at the issues of football and the environment in Europe.
To participate you should have an interest in football, or other sports, and their impact on the environment. You may also have ideas as to how to decrease the impact of sport; and the links between environmental activism and other areas of social change in sport.
Our environment is being rapidly impacted by climate change in a way that will impact all of our lives, including our participation in sport at every level, whether we are players, coaches or supporters. The relationship is two-way: the environmental footprint of sports contributes to the very climate change that is now threatening the future of those sports. This makes us both a victim and a contributor, giving us a unique responsibility and incentive to lead on environmental action.
You do not have to be an expert to attend the roundtable, but you do need to have an interest and engagement in this area. If you or your organisation fit this description please let is know by emailing info@farenet.org
The half-day meeting will take place in Amsterdam in the coming weeks.
