A unique exhibition is set to premier in Argentina today, ahead of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, on football and stories of survival and resistance during the Holocaust.

The exhibition will include 11 stories that focus on the lives of players, coaches and clubs during the Holocaust to raise awareness and open educational debates among youth, university students and the wider audience on the dangers of racism and anti-Semitism in sport.

These include: the Liga Terezin, the stories of Julius Hirsch, the first Jewish player to play for Germany, and Matthias Sindelar, Austrian international who refused to play for Nazi Germany after it annexed Austrian territories, among others.

The exhibition will be launched at 7pm at the museum of the Argentine giant River Plate, where several sculptures and paintings around the topic will also be on display. It will after tour around the country.

'No Fue un Juego' (ENG It was not a game) is the result of a joint work between the sports journalist and TV presenter Leonardo Albajari and the Holocaust Museum of Buenos Aires to compile football stories during the Holocaust.
