Both Arab and Jewish fans of Israeli teams, Hapoel Tel Aviv and Bnei Sakhnin came together before the opening match of the 2013/2014 Ligat Ha'Al season in a united stand against racism.

The fans of both teams met up to made anti-racism banners to display at the game and to discuss the need for tolerance .

The players also played their part and joined in the anti-racism activities by wearing t-shirts that read ‘Football for All’ in Arabic, Hebrew and English when they came onto the pitch. They also handed out UEFA footballs with the ‘Respect’ message on them to fans of both teams.

The event is part of Israel’s Kick It Out campaign for the current season that encourages fans to be pro-active and to come together in a combined effort to challenge racism, by carrying out activities such as creating banners to be displayed in stadiums.

The initiative was organised by the New Israel Fund's (NIF) Let's Kick Racism Out of Israeli Football campaign in partnership with the Israel FA and with the support of Israel Police, Ministry of Sport, the HAADUMIM (Hapoel Tel Aviv's Fans Association) and the Bnei Sakhnin Fans Association.

The NIF campaign is currently marking 10 years of activities within Israeli football.
