Ahead of the FIFA friendly against the USA on Wednesday 24 March, the Danish Football Association (DBU) will be holding a networking event in Aarhus, the country's second largest city, to further develop their action in fighting discrimination in football and society.

The 'Football & Integration' event comes after a statutory change agreed at the DBU annual General Assembly in Odense, earlier this month, and looks to both present the new statutes and work against discrimination, while sharing best practice on the field.

The newly adopted statutes mirror the DBU work around diversity, social responsibility and the fight against discrimination and homophobia.

DBU Communications Manager Jakob Hoyer said: "DBU and Danish football want to further their work in social responsibility areas as for example health, inclusion and cooperation. The new statutes back-up this idea."

At the networking event next Wednesday, the DBU Chairman Jesper Møler and Aarhus mayor Jacob Bundsgaard will address the role of sport, and football in particular, integrate migrant communities, while Afif Abdallah will present the work of the ACFC, the Aarhus-based club he founded 20 years ago to boost the sporting opportunities for youth migrants. Leading players and organisations working on the field, such as Fare, will also partake.

The work of ACFC is integrated in the DBU programme 'GET 2 Sport' that looks to promote the inclusion of Danes, regardless of social background, gender, ethnicity or age, through football.
