FARE have issued the statement below in regard to the recent San Marino v England match.

Piara Powar, Executive Director of FARE said, "FARE has submitted reports about xenophobia and racism at three FIFA World Cup qualifying matches on 22/03/13: Croatia v Serbia, Poland v Ukraine, San Marino v England.

"The reports were collated from FARE observers, published media and reports sent to us directly.

"The report of the San Marino v England match concerns abuse of players not involved in the game, but of chants that could be seen as racist in the context of events in England over the past year.

"As the sanctioning body for this game FIFA will consider the report in detail before a decision is made to charge. We will help with any further queries they may have regarding our report, background to the situation or context."
