Open call: activities to create long-term change for LGBTIQ+ people in sport
Football v Homophobia 2022 grants available for exceptional projects that create long-term change for the LGBTIQ+ community in the sporting environment
This year the Fare Football v Homophobia international grants will focus on creating a long-term impact on the sporting environment. Fare is offering grants for exceptional projects that can support education-led change, particularly educating football stakeholders on the whys and how of increased inclusion and representation of LGBTIQ+ people.
Have you identified a gap in existing resources that you want to fill? Perhaps you have an idea for an innovative way of reaching and educating decision makers? Maybe you want to launch a strategic plan for lobbying sports bodies on queer issues? Then this year’s FvH grants may be your opportunity.
We are offering sums up to 1000 Euros (1000 USD outside of Europe) for projects that will oversee creative and impactful means of promoting inclusion through education, resource production, or lobbying.
The application process is open from Thursday 10th February until Thursday 10th March 2022. Applicants will be contacted that week with a request for more information or a decision.
Successful activities will be expected to take place in May around the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia. Grant recipients will be required to complete an impact report to be published during Pride Month in July.
We highly encourage you to get in touch with a member of our team to discuss your idea by writing to info@farenet.org.
Some ideas you may want to consider:
- Creating educational modules or resources and a plan for their implementation
- Creating policy or new practices for sports bodies in your region or country
- Developing an agenda for change with an implementation plan
- Developing creative ways or new opportunities for educational outreach activities
- Strategies for lobbying sports bodies or policy makers
All activities should be implemented during May 2022.
