The Latvian Football Federation (LFF) has begun a concerted campaign in support of UEFA's “Unite Against Racism” drive. During a recent international against Uzbekistan, “Unite Against Racism” boards were prominently placed in front of the substitutes' bench. Previously, during UEFA European Championship qualifiers against Poland and Hungary, articles highlighting the evil of racism appeared within the match programme. At a grassroots level, the LFF have organised a “unite Against Racism” tournament, attracting children of different nationalities.
The public and media have welcomed the recent work by the LFF. It has done much to educate fans of the dangers of racism within the game.
