Get Inclusive in the Game conference date announced
Get Inclusive in the Game (GIIG) project aimed at improving the social inclusion of migrants, refugees and women through sport final conference will take place on 13 October.
GIIG is a sports project co-funded by the European Union Erasmus Plus programme aimed at promoting voluntary activities in sport that foster the social inclusion of minority groups, equal opportunities and raise awareness of health-enhancing physical activity.
The conference will be hosted by the NGO Nuovi Orrizonti in the Italian city of Frosinone. Under the theme "Sport for All and Social Inclusion in Europe", the conference will bring together all GIIG partners to share best practice. Speakers will also include Matteo Marzotto, renowned cycling manager, Gianni Sasso, Paralympic athlete, and Maurizio Fabi, martial arts master.
The Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) Lazio representative Riccardo Viola and the Secretary of the Ministry of Labour Franca Biondelli will also be in attendance.
The conference will be followed by a two-day tournament on 14 and 15 October, which will bring together over 150 boys and girls to play for social inclusion.
The project life cycle consisted of a year-long of innovative and operative synergies between organisations and institutions working in sport and other sectors, such as education, voluntarism, activism and social enterprises.
Info days in Italy, Poland and Slovenia, a roundtable, No Hate Speech training sessions for coaches and sport for all days were also organised as part of it.
The project's best practice will be also shared on GIIG's website.
