The event, to take place on the 4th December 2018, is part of the INSPIRE project (Integration through Sport and Inclusion for Refugees in Europe) which sets out a European-wide approach for host communities to successfully engage and integrate refugees through sport.

The EU-funded project has led to a toolkit being developed with training modules, best practice examples, and recommendations to sports organisations and practitioners.

The focus of the 12-month project has been on identifying the needs of refugees and barriers to participation in local sport and promote a transferable methodology based on the findings.

Gender balance has been a focal point due to the low levels of the participation of female refugees in grassroots sport.

Who should attend?
The event is suitable for football associations and other sports governing bodies, policy makers, NGOs, refugee community organisations.

Please note entry to the event is free.

A small bursary scheme to cover flights and accommodation is available to support attendance. Please apply here for a bursary:
