Norway Shows Racism The Red Card20 October 2002

During the final match of the season the Premier club Valerenga in Oslo held an awards ceremony for the school competition of the Gi Rasisme Rødt Kort (Show Racism the Red Card) campaign. The school classes were invited to paint big sheets with anti-racist slogans which were then sown together into one big banner which was displayed during half-time down on the pitch. All participating school kids attended the match and the winning class was called down to the pitch for a brief award ceremony in front of the crowd.

Earlier on 16 October, before the kick-off of the EURO 2004 qualifier match between Norway and Bosnia Herzegovina, the players presented red cards against racism.
