Football Unites’ Anti-Racist Action Week Events07 October 2002

In celebration of Black History Month (October) and the Anti-Racism Week of Action in Football, (17-28 October), “Football Unites, Racism Divides” will be involved in a series of events in England.

  • They will be running a Streetkick (3-a-side street based football) tournament with representatives from local clubs;
  • they will launch an exhibition about Arthur Wharton – the world’s first black professional footballer;
  • their education worker will be visiting schools with the History of Black Footballers Exhibition;
  • and finally there is ‘Communities United’ – a 5-a-side tournament played by refugee groups from around Britain.
