European parliament to host exhibition on diversity in football30 September 2013

AseriesofeventsonthethemeofdiversityinfootballwilltakeplacenextTuesday(8October)andWednesday(9October)attheEuropeanParliamentinStrasbourg,featuringhighlevelspeakersfromEuropeanpolitics,footballgoverningbodiesandsportsNGOs.

The events will be focused around a new UEFA funded exhibition on diversity in football that is to hosted by Emine Bozkurt MEP, the chair of the ‘Friends of Football’ group in the parliament.

Speakers include the EU Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion, Laszlo Andor, the President of the Dutch Football Association, Michael van Praag, and players including former Belgium striker Mbo Mpenza (Standard Liège and Sporting Clube de Portugal) and Fare ambassador Paul Elliott.

The opening panel discussion will also feature Rosarito Cuccoli, of the Sport and Citizenship’s Women and Sport network, Pascal Brethes, of Paris Foot Gay and immy Adjovi-Boco, of the Patrick Vieira-led Diambars Foundation.

On Wednesday 9 October Sport and Citizenship will host a panel discussion on Roma inclusion and football featuring William Gaillard of UEFA, Piara Powar of the Fare network and experts including Valerie Nicolae of the Policy Centre.
