Ethnic minority women set for empowerment and learning in Paris

Women from 16 countries will join Fare for an event focused on ethnic minority women and football this Sunday and Monday (16/ 17 June) in Paris, France.

The 40 participants will be part of a roundtable to look at the landscape facing ethnic minority women and opportunities in football, sessions on how to develop organisational focus, and advice on leadership and personal effectiveness.

Participants will also attend the FIFA Women’s World Cup group stage game between USA and Chile at the Parc des Princes stadium in Paris.

“Bringing together and empowering ethnic minority women through sport is the clear focus of this second roundtable,” said Fare executive director Piara Powar.

“Through sessions emphasising personal development, networking and leadership, our aim is to help support some of the leaders of tomorrow in football. We hope to provide them with a platform to learn, express themselves and build links with each other that can then be taken on in the future.”
