Call for interest - Gaming Application to combat Homophobic Violence & Intolerance In Sport

The FARE partner organisation European Gay & Lesbian Sport Federation (EGLSF) is currently inviting expressions of interest from organisations or companies that have experience in developing gaming technology and applications to assist with the development of a new anti-discrimination gaming application.

The EGLSF has recently received a grant from the European Union for the “Preventing & Fighting Homophobic Violence & Intolerance in Sport – Pride in Sport” project and a key part of the bid includes the development of a gaming application for young people, and the EGLSF

The aim of the application is to raise awareness and understanding of discrimination, including homophobia, transphobia, racism, sexism and discrimination against disabled people, in sport and to give young people the tools to challenge discrimination if they encounter it. The application will be available online for use by organisations working with young people, such as schools and youth centres. The application must therefore appeal to young people, be current and with the potential of remaining relevant for at least three years (with future updates to be negotiated independently of this call).

The total budget available for the development of the application is 50,000 Euros.

Companies/constituted organisations with experience in this area are invited to put forward an expression of interest for the development of this app by 25th April 2012 with the following information,

- evidence of company/organisation constitution & formal registration
- at least three relevant references
- CV of key programmers & project manager
- presentation of the company’s ideas regarding the content of the app in a form that can be evaluated during a meeting of the ELGSF at the end of April.

All information and ideas should be presented in English and emailed to board@eglsf.info

The successful organisation will be notified in May and it is expected that the initial application will be completed by November 2012, ready to be piloted in December and to be launched in January 2013.

Please contact the EGLSF Board (board@eglsf.info) for any further information
