Sports Media LGBT+ will produce media guidelines on LGBT+ inclusion in football and sport for the benefit of journalists, editors and media officers at football clubs. These are published in conjunction with an event on authenticity for LGBT+ people in sport, to be held at Twitter UK’s headquarters. The guidelines will help to navigate language, terminology and context, and give them the confidence to address all aspects of LGBT+ inclusion. The event features a women’s football panel which will address visibility and representation in the game in the wake of the World Cup in France, with trans women included in that discussion. The guidelines will ideally be published as a booklet and PDF and distributed with the assistance of Stonewall, Kick It Out and further partners.
