The Football People weeks are a global campaign to tackle discrimination and celebrate diversity in football. For two weeks in October (11th-25th) 100,000+ people will take part in 2,000 events in over 60 countries to bring about positive social change in and through football – and you can be a part of it.
The weeks unite grassroots groups, clubs, supporters, NGOs and communities affected by exclusion across the continent to eradicate discrimination in the game.
Participating in the Football People weeks is a great way to connect with your communities, partners and stakeholders, showing people around the world the good that football can do in helping bring people together. Participation is open and free to all.
With the action weeks fast approaching the excitement is growing. Premier League winner and former Manchester City and Ivory Coast international Yaya Toure has been a dedicated supporter of equal rights, diversity and social inclusion during a highly successful career at the top of his profession, fighting discrimination throughout his time as a professional.
5⃣ Good luck to our friend @YayaToure at your new club @olympiacos_org. Yaya has been a champion in the fight for equality and social inclusion for many years and visited us at the Diversity House in Moscow during the World Cup. https://t.co/USy8YWxlXa pic.twitter.com/pL3zaEflAI
