The following incidents of racism, xenophobia, extreme nationalism or homophobia have been reported to Fare during February 2015. This list is only likely to reflect a proportion of the incidents that occurred.
All reports have been brought to Fare’s attention through eye-witness or media accounts. A Fare observer scheme is also currently at place at UEFA club competitions to monitor discriminatory behaviour.
Fare has third party reporting status with UEFA, and FIFA on international matches, and at a national level we can support incident reports made by our members.

01 February 2015 – German 3. Liga: Preußen Münster v Dynamo Dresden
A group of Dynamo Dresden fans displayed several sexist and far-right banners.
01 February 2015 – U20 South American Championship: Argentina v Brazil
A group of Argentinian fans racially abused the Brazilian international Marcos Guilherme.
07 February 2015 – Spanish Segunda División: Real Zaragoza v FC Barcelona B
A group of Real Zaragoza fans shouted discriminatory chants disparaging disabled people and Barcelona fans.
07 February 2015 – U20 South American Championship: Brazil v Colombia
Members of Brazil’s staff and substitutes reported being racially abused during the match.
08 February 2015 – Spanish Segunda División: Real Betis v Ponferradina
Betis ultras chanted a sexist song promoting domestic violence.
09 February 2015 – Italian Serie A: Lazio v Genoa
Genoa players were racially abused by a group of Lazio fans.
15 February 2015 – Swiss Raiffeisen Super League: St. Gallen v Luzern
A group of FC Luzern fans paraded in the streets of St. Gallen following a supporter dressed up as an Orthodox Jew, supposed to represent the opposing team, yelling anti-Semitic chants.
16 February 2015 – Croatian Prva HNL: GNK Dinamo v NK Zadar
A group of GNK Dinamo supporters sang far-right songs and chanted homophobic abuse.
16 February 2015 – Scottish Championship: Raith Rovers v Rangers
A group of Rangers fans chanted racist and sectarian songs.
17 February 2015 – UEFA Champions League: Paris SG v Chelsea
A group of Chelsea fans blocked a black Parisian man from entering a Paris Metró train while celebrating their self-declared racism.
21 February 2015 – English League Championship: Brighton v Birmingham
A Brighton and a Birmingham fan were arrested over racist chanting at the match.
22 February 2015 – Brazilian Gaúcho state Championship: São Paulo v Internacional
A São Paulo fan was arrested for racially abusing an Internacional delegate.
22 February 2015 – Brazilian Mineiro state Championship: URT v Villa Nova
URT player Júnior Paraíba said he was racially abused by the match referee Ronei Cândido Alves.
22 February 2015 – English Premier League: Tottenham v West Ham
A video emerged of a group of West Ham fans chanting anti-Semitic songs on a train ahead of the Premier League encouter.
During the match West Ham supporters sang slogans using a derogatory term for people with learning disabilities.
22 February 2015 – Greek Superleague League: Panathinaicos v Olympiacos
A group Panathinaicos fans racially abused Olympiacos strategic advisor Christian Karembeu.
25 February 2015 – Brazilian Sul-Matogrossense state Championship: Corumbaense v Naviraiense
Naviraiense player Robinho was allegedly subjected to racist abuse by a group of Corumbaense fans.
25 February 2015 – UEFA Champions League: Bayer Leverkusen v Atlético Madrid
A group of Bayer Leverkusen supporters displayed a banner featuring sexist remarks.
26 February 2015 – UEFA Europa League: Dynamo Kyiv v Guingamp
A group of Dynamo fans performed Nazi salutes and displayed a far-right banner.
Details of the incident were passed to UEFA for action.
26 February 2015 – UEFA Europa League: Feyenoord v Roma
A group of Feyenoord fans threw an inflatable banana onto the pitch.
Media reports suggest the banana was thrown towards AS Roma Ivory Coast striker Gervinho.
14 February 2015 – Ascenso MX League: Dorados Sinaloa v Correcaminos
During the match, Dorados forward Roberto Nurse was subjected to racist abuse on Twitter by Juan Carlos Román, a players’ representative in Liga Ascenso.
Italian Serie A: Lazio v Genoa
FIGC have imposed Lazio a one-match ban for fans’ racism on the Serie A match on 09/02/15.
The sentence is suspended for one year, which means that the club will not face an immediate stadium closure, but any similar penalty incurred in the next 12 months will see the ban added to any sentence for the second incident.
UEFA Europa League: FC Steaua București v Dynamo Kyiv
UEFA have ordered FC Steaua București to play their next two UEFA competition matches, as a host club, behind closed doors.
The sanction regards a far-right banner displayed by a group of Steaua fans on 11/12/14.
