After the racist incidents at the UI-Cup Game at Differdange (FARE reported), there has also been trouble at Slovan's next round game away to Rapid Vienna.

FARE observers witnessed small groups of fans doing the nazi salute and wearing neo-Nazi shirts both inside and outside the stadium, carrying the numbers 88 (code for "Heil Hitler").

Slovan fans also displayed a Celtic Cross as well as a xenophobic banner saying "Wir gruessen Tuerken und Ostdeutsche von Rapid" ("We´re greeting the Turks and East Germans of Rapid").

FARE hopes that UEFA will take appropriate disciplinary measures and also attempts to prevent similar racist behaviour at any forthcoming Slovan matches in the UEFA Intertoto Cup competition.
