Football Against Racism in Europe

We want to see the 'beautiful game' played without the cancer of racism. Football is the biggest sport in the world and belongs to us all. It should be the right of every person to play, watch and discuss freely, without fear.

Unfortunately, at all levels of the game, from amateur to international, there are incidents of racism. Be it from fans, players, clubs or other football bodies, FARE believes that such behaviour, on and off the field, is unacceptable and unwanted by the majority of fans and players.

FARE aims to rid the game of racism by combining the resources of anti-racist football organisation throughout Europe. It helps to support and nurture groups and coordinates efforts on a European scale. By working together, FARE helps organisations share good practice and present a united front against racism in football.

Out now: FARE Magazine 2009

On the occasion of the third Unite Against Racism Conference in Warsaw on 3 and 4 March, and the tenth anniversary of Football Against Racism in Europe, the FARE network has produced a magazine to give an overview on FARE activities and the goals achieved in the past ten years. The brochure also gives an outlook on future challenges and new areas of work, such as the first World Cup on African soil in 2010 and the UEFA EURO 2012 in Poland and Ukraine, which opens the opportunity to develop new partnerships and capacity- build grassroots initiatives in Eastern and Central Europe.
