The anti-racist World Cup began life as a simple demonstration and with time has been transformed into a genuine laboratory of ideas. The event has given birth to parallel projects, cooperations between different groups and concrete action that takes place throughout the year.

20 Years of Mondiali Antirazzisti

Every year thousands of people representing over 200 teams (male, female and mixed) attend the Mondiali. Participants include groups of Italian ultras, supporters groups from many other European teams, immigrant associations from around the world, anti-racism organisations, refugee teams, youth groups and individuals.

For five days the Parco di Bosco Albergati, in Castelfranco Emilia (Modena), becomes the centre of the biggest anti-racist football festival in the world.

Participation in the Mondial Antirazzisti is a commitment to leave aside, in the fight against racism, rivalry between groups and communities and individual aggression, and promote sport as a unique tool for social inclusion.

What’s going on there?

Sports tournaments, concerts, debates, other cultural and sporting events, spontaneous gatherings and much more.

Groups that have participated in previous events over the years are joined by other groups participating for the first time.

In 2015, the first tchoukball tournament was held at the Mondiali. Moreover, 190 football teams, 24 basketball teams, 20 volley teams, 6 touch rugby teams, 3 cricket teams participated in the event. An average of 7.000 people visited

Every year an Anti-racist Square is set up. This area is used to display material provided by each group to highlight their efforts in fighting discrimination. Videos are shown and informal meetings organised. Exhibition stands can be visited during the day.
