Longstanding antiracist fan initiative of Schalke 04 are screening the premier of “Typisch deutsch”, a film shot by young refugees about how they experience typical German life together with other short films about football and racism and/or football and discrimination. Former German international Gerald Asamoah features in the film. Discussions with the filmmakers and experts will follow the screenings. The event on 15 October, 1pm, is free and local students will be invited. Venue: Schauburg Gelsenkirchen-Buer.
On 10 October, at 7pm, the Schalker Faninitiative is hosting an evening that seeks to critically discuss the commitment that clubs and players show to tackle discrimination and to make football more inclusive. Author Ronny Blaschke spoke to players, clubs, politicians about their efforts to use football for social change and presents his findings in his latest book. Free entry.
